The project

NorGer KS plans to construct the first electricity cable connection between Germany and Norway. The intention is to link the Norwegian and German electricity supply grids.

The idea

In order to ensure a diversified and stable energy supply for Europe there is a need for increased cross-border power cooperation.

Climate gain

A cable connection between Norway and Germany gives possibilities for significant environmental gains, among others that increased use of wind power replaces thermal power production.
